Historical & Genealogical Society

The Chautauqua County Historical & Genealogical Society goals and objectives are to promote interest and research in genealogy and family history; assist individuals who desire help in their pursuit of family history; gather and preserve such records and materials as might be useful or relative to genealogical research and historical preservation; provide assistance in research methods, sources of information, and other facts of ancestral or family research; and preserve the history of Chautauqua County Kansas.

Membership: $15/year, application available in person or on website.

Meetings: The first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm at the History House (115 W Main St), Annual Meeting in July, The public is invited to all meetings

Item Donations can be made during normal business hours or contact us to schedule an appointment.

Research assistance is available by U. S. mail for a $10/hour fee. Furnish as much detail as possible to enable us to correctly identify the surname/given name or subject of interest. Please enclose a SASE in all correspondence if you wish a reply. Copies are $0.50 each.
