Advance Ballots

To receive an Advance Ballot by mail, complete the Application for Advance Ballot by Mail and return it to the Election Office. You can also complete an online application and submit it electronically. 

Early Voting

For the Primary Election on August 4, 2026, early voting will start on Wednesday, July 15, through Monday, August 3, at 12:00 noon.

For the General Election on November 3, 2026, early voting will start on Wednesday, October 14, through Monday, November 2, at 12:00 noon.  

You may vote early Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 am and 1:00 pm to 3:30 p.m. in the County Clerk's Office.

The County Clerk's Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Chautauqua County Courthouse at 215 N Chautauqua St, Sedan, KS 67361.

Military Voters  

The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) extends federal absentee voting rights to U.S. citizens who are 18 or older AND active duty members of the Uniformed Services (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps) Members of the Merchant Marines, eligible family members of the above, and U.S. citizens residing outside the U.S.
